Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Thursday launched its long-pending DiGi7 initiative, a digital-door ID system for all properties, rendering identification and navigation easier.

According to BBMP officials, the system encompasses 19 lakh properties across the city.

After a simpleone-time registration on the DiGi7 app that can be downloaded on any smartphone, citizens can get the seven-digit door number of their properties and use them for allied services, including cab aggregators, food delivery. N Manjunath Prasad, BBMP commissioner, said Di-Gi7 will help the civic administration service requests for building plan change and reporting grievances. “While 19 lakh properties in BBMP limits have been included under the new system, in the next phase, we’ll move to Bangalore Development Authority properties,” he said.

Bengaluru development minister KJ George confirmed that over 14,000 objections had been received to the Revised Master Plan 2031.
